“Eighty-four Border Security Force (BSF) personnel posted in Manipur were admitted to a hospital in Imphal on Thursday (October 15, 2026) for suspected food poisoning after having breakfast,” an official said.

The personnel had arrived here from elsewhere on Wednesday (October 14, 2026), and they were staying at a construction site at Lamshang in Imphal West district.

“They had consumed "puri and alu sabji" in the morning at around 8.30 a.m., following which they started vomiting. The border guards were brought to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) around 1 p.m.,” an official of the hospital said.
