Sisnoo is a news aggregator for Nepal. It gathers what publishers put in their public feeds — headlines, images, and the text that comes with them — arranges it in one place, and links every item back to the publisher that produced it.
What this site does
- Collects. We read the public RSS and Atom feeds of newspapers, agencies and magazines, and index what they publish.
- Organises. Every item is filed under a section and carries the byline its publisher gave it.
- Dates it honestly. Each article shows the date we indexed it beside the date the publisher ran it, so an old story cannot pass for this morning's news.
- Links back. Every item carries a “Read the original” link to the publisher's own page, and items that went out by feed keep that link for good.
- Searches. Search runs on Google Programmable Search, so a reader can look something up without leaving the site.
What this site is not
We do not report. There is no newsroom here and no original journalism: every story was written and published by somebody else, and the credit is theirs. We do not hold paywalled material, and we do not sell placement.
We do not rewrite headlines or article text. What a publisher sends is what we keep, minus markup that is unsafe to render, and with links to social posts expanded into embeds. A source can also be configured to trim very long items. Formatting may therefore differ from the publisher's page even where the words do not.
Who runs it
Sisnoo is an independent project, run by its own editorial and technical staff. It is funded by advertising sold on these pages. Advertisers have no say in what is aggregated and cannot pay to have a story included, excluded, ranked or rewritten.
Publishers, corrections and takedowns
If you publish something we have indexed and you want it amended or removed, write to news@sisnoo.com. How removals work is set out on Corrections and takedowns; how we choose and credit what we publish is on Editorial Policy; what we do with data is on Privacy Policy.
