Corrections and Takedowns

Last updated 2 days ago

There are two different things that can go wrong with an aggregated story, and they have two different fixes.

1. Something of ours is wrong

The section, the headline as we stored it, the image, the date we showed, a broken link, a mangled name. That is ours to fix. Tell us at news@sajha.xyz with the link to our page and what is wrong, and we will correct it. The article records when it was last changed, so a correction is visible rather than silent.

2. Something in the publisher's story is wrong

We cannot fix that, and we should not try: the text is not ours to edit. Corrections to the reporting itself belong to the newsroom that published it, and the link on our page goes to them. If you are the publisher and you would rather the story did not appear here at all, ask us and we will remove it.

Removal requests

Publishers and rights holders can ask for any item to be taken down, without giving a reason. Write to news@sajha.xyz with the URL of our page and, if it is not obvious, the address of the original. We will remove it, and where a publisher wants nothing from them indexed, we will drop the feed so it does not come back with the next import.

How long it takes

We aim to deal with correction and removal requests within a few days. If something is urgent — a safety risk, a legal deadline, personal data exposed — say so in the subject line and it will be picked up first.

What we will not do

We will not quietly edit another publisher's text, and we will not remove a story at the request of somebody who has no claim over it. A takedown request does not have to come with a reason, but only the publisher or the rights holder gets to make one.
