Nepali Youth Beaten by SSB Personnel Near Biratnagar Border

A 28-year-old Nepali man was allegedly beaten by personnel of India’s Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) near the Nepal-India border in Biratnagar, according to reports.

The incident took place on Saturday in the Darauna border area, where Anuj Kamat of Biratnagar Metropolitan City-2 became involved in a confrontation with an SSB team while returning to Nepal from India.

According to the account reported by local authorities, the dispute escalated after Kamat allegedly threw a stone at SSB personnel, with the stone hitting one of the security personnel.

Kamat then reportedly ran toward the Nepali side. The SSB personnel allegedly followed him, pulled him back toward the no-man’s land area and beat him with batons before taking him toward the Indian side.
