Adam Copeland Retirement: Adam Copeland, the wrestling legend better known as Edge during his WWE career, has announced that 2027 will be his final year as a professional wrestler. The 52-year-old AEW star revealed his retirement plans on the October 14 episode of AEW Dynamite, explaining that recent events had prompted him to reflect on his future in the ring.
Copeland’s announcement does not mean he is retiring immediately. The former WWE champion intends to make the most of his remaining time in wrestling, with one major ambition to win the AEW World Championship still driving him.
Why Adam Copeland Decided to Retire in 2027
Copeland addressed his future after defeating Josh Alexander in a qualifying match for the Clockwork Carnage contest at AEW WrestleDream. During his post-match speech, he reflected on ageing and accepting that his career was approaching its twilight phase.
