The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officially named former left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha as the new Chairman of the Senior Men’s Selection Committee on Monday in Mumbai. Ojha takes over the chief selector role following the conclusion of Ajit Agarkar’s tenure.
Former off-spinner Ramesh Powar has joined the five-member panel to represent the West Zone. Ojha assumes the leadership position based on BCCI constitutional norms prioritizing the selector with the highest number of Test caps.
Why Pragyan Ojha Became India’s Chief Selector
According to the BCCI constitution, the member with the most Test appearances among the five selectors automatically chairs the committee.
