The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved payment of Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) of 78 days for ₹2009.61 crore to 11,40,770 railway employees.

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that the bonus was approved in recognition of ‘the excellent performance by the Railway staff.’
