Casper Ruud will face China’s Yunchaokete Bu in the second round of the Shanghai Masters 2026 on Saturday, October 10. The world No. 24 Norwegian received a first-round bye, while Bu advanced after defeating France’s Luca Van Assche.
Ruud’s most recent tournament appearance before Shanghai came at the Japan Open in Tokyo, where he lost to Italy’s Luciano Darderi in the third round, 7-6(3), 6-3, on October 1.
Bu Yunchaokete, meanwhile, secured his place in the second round with a straight-sets victory over Luca Van Assche. The Chinese wildcard won 7-6(3), 6-3 on October 8.
