Washington Huskies quarterback Elijah Brown delivered one of the most unusual performances of the college football weekend on Friday night.
Making his first start in place of injured Demond Williams Jr., Brown threw for 302 yards and three touchdowns — but also three interceptions.
Washington still defeated Purdue 38-26 at Ross-Ade Stadium, ending a three-game losing streak and securing its first Big Ten win of the season.

The result raises a bigger question than the final score: did Washington discover a capable replacement at quarterback, or did it survive a performance that could prove costly against stronger opponents?
Elijah Brown’s Numbers Tell Two Different Stories
Brown completed 21 of 27 passes, an impressive 77.8% completion rate, and consistently moved Washington’s offense downfield.
His three touchdown passes helped the Huskies build a lead, including a 25-yard scoring connection with Brian Bonner Jr. and a fourth-quarter touchdown to Dezmen Roebuck.
But the interceptions cannot be ignored. Against a more clinical opponent, those mistakes could have turned a Washington victory into another defeat.
Brown’s performance was therefore both encouraging and concerning.
