The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has intensified its organisational preparations for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, with a renewed focus on 100–120 constituencies where its performance was weak during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The party is working on a targeted strategy centred on booth-level mobilisation, caste equations, cadre strengthening and candidate selection, while shifting greater attention towards rural areas to revive its support base.

BJP state in-charge Vinod Tawde has initiated a series of meetings with senior organisational office-bearers to review the party’s electoral preparedness. These deliberations were followed by discussions with BL Santhosh, the party’s national general secretary (organisation), focusing on organisational weaknesses and the differences in the BJP’s performance in the 2022 assembly and 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

According to sources, the party has decided to prioritise coordination within the organisation, extending from the state leadership to the assembly, district and mandal levels and, ultimately, individual polling booths. Organisational functionaries will be mobilised to reactivate the party machinery in constituencies where the BJP struggled in the last Lok Sabha elections.

Caste dynamics will form the second major pillar of the strategy. The party plans to assess the caste composition of individual booths and identify communities where it needs to expand its influence. In constituencies with sizeable populations of particular castes, the BJP will seek to strengthen its organisational presence and bring influential local figures into its fold. Simultaneously, efforts will be made to connect with communities that have a relatively smaller presence but could contribute to building a broader social coalition.
