Delhi Protest Today: Delhi could see fresh political demonstrations on Monday, October 12, 2026, as Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and the INDIA bloc prepare to take to the streets over alleged electoral irregularities and the handling of voter lists. The Indian Youth Congress has also announced a ‘Chalo Delhi’ mobilisation, calling on people to defend the Constitution and democracy.

The planned demonstrations follow days of protests and police detentions in the capital, raising questions about security arrangements and possible traffic disruptions.

According to a report published by The Times of India late on October 11, the Congress and Opposition parties plan to march towards the Supreme Court and seek the intervention of Chief Justice of India Surya Kant. Organisers have announced an assembly point near Connaught Place and Barakhamba Road at 1:30 pm.

The Congress has named its planned mobilisation ‘Chalo Delhi – March for Democracy’. Rahul Gandhi has called on Opposition parties, young people and civil society groups to join the demonstration.

The march is intended to raise concerns about alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, demands for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, and the treatment of protesters during recent demonstrations.

According to the report, participants are expected to assemble at the Connaught Place–Barakhamba Road junction at 1:30 pm on Monday before proceeding towards the Supreme Court. The Opposition plans to submit a memorandum to the Chief Justice of India seeking intervention.

These plans come amid a wider political dispute. Opposition parties allege irregularities in voter-list revisions, while the Election Commission and the BJP have rejected allegations of wrongdoing.
