ISL Live Free: The Indian Super League is back with a new season. The ISL 2026-27 season kicks off on October 9 with a blockbuster clash featuring Bengaluru FC and SC Delhi. It’s actually a doubleheader on Saturday, with FC Goa vs Chennaiyin FC following the inaugural clash. The Indian domestic football campaign is already underway, with Kolkata-based clubs proving their superiority.
East Bengal FC, who won their much-awaited ISL last season, ending a 22-year drought for the top-flight title, became the Durand Cup champions. Meanwhile, Mohun Bagan Super Giant triumphed in the IFA Shield, beating their arch-rivals after losing the Durand final.
Now the stage is set for the biggest competition of the country. This season, a total of 13 teams will be vying for the silverware. They will play each other twice in a round-robin format, and the top six teams will progress into the playoffs, which didn’t happen last time around.
