The Telugu Desam Party (TDP), the Jana Sena Party (JSP) and the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) announced fresh lists of their candidates for the Mayor posts on Saturday (October 17, 2026), a day before the deadline for filing nominations for the local body polls.

The JSP fielded Vangaveeti Radhakrishna as the mayoral candidate in Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC). It was just two days ago that Mr. Radhakrishna switched his loyalty to the JSP from the TDP, which he joined in early 2019.
