Senior BJP leader Sudha Yadav was named Karnataka’s next Governor on Monday by President Droupadi Murmu. She will be the second woman to hold the post in the State, after V.S. Rama Devi.

Karnataka was one of the six states to which gubernatorial appointments were announced on Monday. The incumbent ThaawarChand Gehlot had been Governor since July 21, 2021.
