KATHMANDU: The prices of mountain goats, locally known as chyangra, have surged significantly ahead of the Dashain festival. In the Baglung market, premium mountain goats are now being sold for between Rs 45,000 and Rs 50,000. Despite the sharp increase in prices, demand remains high due to the traditional consumption of chyangra meat during the festival.
