Ukraine has called for urgent international intervention in the occupied town of Oleshky, alleging that residents are struggling to access food and medicines and that safe burials are being prevented. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has appealed to international organisations to arrange evacuations and ensure humanitarian aid reaches those trapped in the town.
The appeal came a day after Russian President Vladimir Putin told Pope Leo that Moscow would cooperate in delivering essential supplies to Oleshky, located in Ukraine’s southern Kherson region.
