The district administration has issued instructions to ensure safety and provide basic facilities for the Kalpathy chariot festival being held in November. The decisions were taken at a review meeting chaired by District Collector K. Sudheer at the Collectorate here on Thursday.

The use of LPG cylinders will be banned within the temple premises to prevent accidents. The Public Works department (PWD) will inspect the chariots to ensure they are safe. A separate pathway for senior citizens is also under consideration.
