October is a busy month for art! Here’s everything worth seeing in Delhi this month.
1 In-Rhythm, Bice Lazzari and Nasreen Mohamedi at Kiran Nadar Museum of Art (KNMA)
Presented in partnership with the Italian Embassy Cultural Centre in New Delhi and Archivio Bice Lazzari, the exhibition is curated by Andrea Anastasio, Director of the Italian Cultural Institute in New Delhi, and Roobina Karode, Artistic Director and Chief Curator at KNMA, with assistance from Neha ‘Zooni’ Tickoo, Curator at KNMA. It brings together works by Italian artist Bice Lazzari (1900–1981) and Indian artist Nasreen Mohamedi (1937–1990), who, despite having no direct connection, appear to have developed similar artistic approaches during the 1960s, 1970s and early 1980s. The exhibition offers a direct visual dialogue between the two artists, bringing together practices that evolved independently and were recognised internationally largely after their deaths.

2 Where the River Bends, I Begin Again, solo show by Feroza Hakeem at Gallery Pristine Contemporary
The show brings together 21 contemporary miniature artworks by artist Feroza Hakeem, curated by independent curator Khushboo Jain. Hakeem’s work is shaped by her lived experience as a Hazara woman navigating systemic violence in Quetta. Rather than focusing on destruction, her paintings resist it. She reimagines stark, barren landscapes, weaving vibrant flowers into desolate mountains and threading blue streams through dry valleys. Her work asks whether beauty can serve as an intentional act of repair rather than mere escape.
Dates: September 23–October 23
Location: Gallery Pristine Contemporary, Basement, Saini Bhawan, Defence Colony
3 Counter Poetry, solo show by Pinaki Ranjan Mohanty at Art Centrix Space
Curated by Sibdas Sengupta, the show brings together large-scale sculptures made from wood and stone gathered directly from the shores of Lake Chilika in Odisha, alongside paintings that trace the lake’s shifting colours and moods. Together, the works form a record of a landscape undergoing irreversible change. Mohanty’s work examines the lake’s present condition, including sand accumulation, a shifting shoreline, new construction and growing pressure on both the natural environment and the communities living around it.

Location: Art Centrix Space, Jain Farm, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi
4 Sacred Spaces, solo show by V. Ramesh, presented by Gallery Threshold
