US President Donald Trump has launched a fresh attack on French President Emmanuel Macron, blaming France’s immigration policies for the challenges facing the country. Trump claimed that France had allowed too many people to enter its territory and warned that Paris could soon become a “Muslim city”.

Trump accused Macron of ignoring his advice on controlling immigration and protecting the country’s borders. He argued that France’s approach was different from the strict border policies adopted by his administration in the United States.

“Paris is going to be a Muslim city very soon, and that wasn’t the deal,” Trump told reporters.

Trump Criticises France’s Open-Border Approach

Criticising France’s immigration policy, Trump claimed that the country had allowed people from across the world to enter without sufficient restrictions.

“You’re letting everybody from the world come in. The whole world was coming in,” he added.

Trump maintained that he had warned Macron about the potential consequences of his immigration policies when they first met. According to the US president, he had raised concerns about the French leader’s approach several years ago.

“I’ve known him for maybe eight or nine years and I told him as soon as I met him, I said ‘you’re making a big mistake’,” Trump said.

Trump Compares US and French Border Policies

Trump contrasted France’s immigration policy with the measures introduced by his administration in the United States. He argued that his government had taken a stricter approach to border control, unlike the French leadership.

“We closed our borders. He didn’t,” he added.

His remarks reflect his longstanding position in favour of tighter immigration controls and stricter border enforcement. Trump has repeatedly made immigration a central issue in his political messaging, arguing that governments should take stronger steps to regulate the entry of foreign nationals.
