Israeli police have arrested 10 suspects following separate attacks on foreign nationals in the occupied West Bank, including an American photographer working for The Washington Post and a French mayor visiting the region.
Police said Monday that officers conducted raids at several locations and seized vehicles and potential evidence linked to the incidents. The suspects face allegations including assault-related violence, violating military orders and illegal construction.
American Photographer, French Mayor Assaulted
Heidi Levine, a veteran photographer on assignment for The Washington Post, was reportedly hospitalised with broken vertebrae after being attacked by settlers. A separate incident involved Bernard Baudoux, the 78-year-old mayor of Aulnoye-Aymeries in northern France. He was reportedly beaten during a visit to the West Bank, where he was supporting Palestinians during the annual olive harvest.
