US-Israel-Iran War Latest News: Iran is adopting new strategies for mounting attacks on commercial shipping vessels and expanding beyond the Strait of Hormuz as part of an effort to maintain high oil prices and affect US midterm elections, senior Iranian officials have said to Reuters on October 14. Iran’s newly adopted strategy involves expanding its activities into the Gulf of Oman and areas close to Qatar and UAE.

These officials stated that Iran started using new kinds of strategies to attack ships they consider violators of their restrictions around 10 days ago. The alterations include not only the kind but also the frequency of the attacks. “This is being coordinated from the highest echelons of the Iranian leadership,” one official told Reuters. “The objective is to foil attempts by the US and its allies to drive down global oil prices.”

Since the war between the US and Israel with Iran that began on February 28, Iran is attempting to increase its power over the Strait of Hormuz. Prior to the war, the channel was carrying one-fifth of the world’s oil and liquefied natural gas trade. Despite the threats and attacks, some oil shipments still move along the strait.
