Winston Lee, who is among the seven members of the Cornell University fraternity facing a lawsuit for sexual assault in a civil court, has received publicity as a result of stories relating to his family history and a link to the former South Korean Prime Minister and US Ambassador, Lee Hong-koo.
As per the New York Post report dated October 17, 2026, Lee is the grandson of Lee Hong-koo, who was the Prime Minister of South Korea from 1994 to 1995 and the ambassador of South Korea in the United States from 1998 to 2000.
While the above-mentioned family connection has come into limelight amid the unfolding court case against Lee and six other Cornell University students, it must be stated that in the earlier media reports the family connection was yet to be independently verified.
