Lamjung, Oct. 5: The Besisahar-Chame road, which had been blocked for a week due to floods and landslides, has resumed operation.
The road had been obstructed for the past seven days after continuous rainfall triggered landslides at several locations and deposited debris on the road.
The Dumre-Besisahar-Chame Road Project cleared the landslides and reopened the road. According to project Information Officer Nabin Bista, the road was reopened after removing landslide debris at Khotro in Nasong Rural Municipality-3 and Koto in Chame Rural Municipality-5, as well as clearing stones and soil deposited on the road.
He said floods and landslides had caused blockages at several sections of the Besisahar-Chame road, while the road had also subsided at some places.
The project said 29 landslide sites were cleared to reopen the road and new tracks were constructed at six locations where the road track had been washed away by floods.
