Brazil Election Result 2026: In Brazil, the presidential election seems to be going to a second round following the failure of right-wing Senator Flávio Bolsonaro to gain the necessary majority of valid votes that would enable him to become the next president, despite polling more votes than President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in the first round.
In accordance with the results provided by Brazil’s Superior Electoral Court (TSE) with 99.99% of the votes being counted, Flávio Bolsonaro won 47.03% of the valid votes while his opponent Lula managed 45.16%. Flávio polled more than 56.1 million votes against 53.9 million that Lula polled. Flávio Bolsonaro and Lula will now face each other in the presidential runoff to be held on October 25, 2026.
