Polling is underway in the Dharapuram (SC) Assembly constituency in Tamil Nadu on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. The by-election has drawn attention as the TVK, DMK and AIADMK compete for the seat.
The constituency recorded 37.28% voter turnout by 11 am, according to reports.
Polling Halted Briefly At Booth
Voting was briefly stopped at a polling station after a woman alleged that polling staff encouraged her to vote for the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). The allegation was brought to the attention of election officials. Polling later continued.
