East Bengal FC will take on Iraq’s Al-Shorta SC in the AFC Champions League Two 2026-27 on Tuesday, October 13, as the Kolkata side look to register their first win in Group D. The match will be played at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan, also known as Salt Lake Stadium, in Kolkata.
East Bengal kicked off their group-stage campaign with a 2-2 draw against Jordan’s Al-Hussein after conceding twice following a two-goal lead. Al-Shorta, meanwhile, started with a 1-0 victory over Oman’s Al-Seeb and will arrive in Kolkata with three points from their opening fixture.
The Kolkata-based team enter their first home fixture in Group D after winning the Indian Super League 2025-26 title and qualifying for the continental group stage with a 4-1 victory over Kuwait’s Al Arabi in the preliminary round. The club is making its first group-stage appearance in Asia’s second-tier club competition since 2015, when it was known as the AFC Cup.
