Kathmandu, Oct 5: The government has determined that more than five billion rupees is required for the reconstruction and rehabilitation in the areas impacted by recent monsoon flooding, including the Bhotekoshi flood incident.
During the 21st meeting of the National Council for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, presided over by Prime Minister Balendra Shah at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers at Singhadurbar today, a decision was made to recommend to the Ministry of Finance for approval the sum of Rs. 5.59 billion for that purpose.
Funds will be allocated through the Ministry of Finance for these initiatives, which have been approved in accordance with the Financial Procedures and Financial Responsibility Regulations, 2077 BS.
