India has reiterated its ‘zero tolerance’ stance on terrorism at the United Nations General Assembly in defense of its right to protect its citizens and act against cross-border terrorism. BJP MP and national general secretary Biplab Kumar Deb raised his voice against the Pakistani government for its involvement in sponsoring terrorist activities in the state of Jammu and Kashmir at the Sixth Committee of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, which focuses on international legal issues. According to Deb, India has the right to defend itself against the acts of cross-border terrorism, which should not be questioned by any means.

India intervened in the matter at a time when India was making efforts to take tougher steps against terrorism at an international level. New Delhi demanded that those who are involved in carrying out terrorist activities be held accountable for their deeds, including the organizers, funders, and sponsors of the terror attacks.

On the subject of the Pahalgam terror attack, in which 26 people were killed last year, Deb stated that it was important to make sure that everyone involved in the acts of terrorism is brought to justice. Resistance Front, which is referred to in India as an entity associated with Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba, claimed responsibility for the Pahalgam attack.
