KATHMANDU: Indian Professor Anil Kumar Mohapatra has called for coordinated cooperation between Nepal and India to mitigate the impacts of climate change, advocating for a joint trilateral mechanism that includes China.

Speaking at an interaction program organized by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and Tribhuvan University’s Centre for Nepal and Asian Studies (CNAS), Mohapatra highlighted that climate change is a shared regional concern requiring unified action.

He welcomed Prime Minister Balendra (Balen) Shah’s recent proposal at the United Nations General Assembly, where Shah advocated for a joint climate mechanism among Nepal, India, and China.
