Janhvi Kapoor is the latest Bollywood celebrity to become the target of an AI-manipulated video. A digitally altered version of her “Chuttamalle” footage with Jr NTR from Devara: Part 1 surfaced online, depicting the actress in an explicit and degrading manner.

Janhvi has since spoken out against the video, calling the experience deeply violating and highlighting the importance of consent when a person’s image is manipulated using technology. Jr NTR also condemned the clip and said he would pursue legal action against those responsible.

Here are 10 celebrities whose faces, voices or existing footage have previously been used in AI-generated or digitally manipulated content.

1. Janhvi Kapoor

Janhvi’s latest deepfake controversy involves footage from the Devara: Part 1 song “Chuttamalle”. The original song features Janhvi and Jr NTR, but an AI-manipulated version altered the footage to create content that was never part of the film.

The clip sparked widespread condemnation, with Jr NTR calling it “disgusting, sick and shameless” and warning that he would take legal action. Janhvi later described the experience as a form of violation and stressed that technology does not erase a person’s right to consent and dignity.

2. Rashmika Mandanna

Rashmika Mandanna was one of the most prominent Indian celebrities to publicly speak about the dangers of deepfakes after a manipulated video of her went viral in November 2023. The video used the body of British influencer Zara Patel and digitally superimposed Rashmika’s face onto it. The clip quickly spread across social media, prompting Rashmika to call the situation “extremely scary” and urge stronger action against the misuse of technology.

3. Alia Bhatt

Alia Bhatt has been targeted by deepfake content on more than one occasion. In one widely reported case in 2024, her face was digitally placed over a video originally featuring actor Wamiqa Gabbi. The Deepfakes Analysis Unit confirmed that the video had been manipulated using AI, while reverse-image searches traced the original footage back to Gabbi’s Instagram account.
