Authorities in Erie, Pennsylvania, have officially identified 45-year-old Matthew Stone Sr. as the suspected gunman in a horrific mass shooting that decimated his own family. The deadly rampage at a Perry Street residence on Friday afternoon claimed the lives of nine victims, including his wife, his pregnant daughter, and several grandchildren, before the suspected shooter turned the weapon on himself.
As the local community reels from the unprecedented scale of the violence, law enforcement officials and the Erie County Coroner have begun releasing the identities of the deceased while working to piece together a motive for the devastating domestic massacre.
Who Were The Victims Of The Attack?
The Erie County Coroner’s Office confirmed the identities of the victims, revealing the grim reality that the violence primarily targeted Stone’s immediate family. Among the deceased are Stone’s wife, 45-year-old Michelle Stone, and their adult children: 21-year-old Matthew Stone Jr., 19-year-old Jonathan Stone, and 24-year-old Angelina Stone, who was heavily pregnant and reportedly scheduled for labor induction just days later.
