KATHMANDU: The three organisations the Japan Nepal Society (JNS), Tokyo, the JICA Alumni Association of Nepal (JAAN) and the Institution for Suitable Actions for Prosperity (ISAP) have donated total Rs 3,547,536 with the objective of providing relief and support for the rehabilitation of citizens displaced and affected by the devastating floods in the Bhote Koshi River of Rasuwa District, and in response to the appeal of government of Nepal.
Such amount was voluntarily collected from the members of the three organizations. A team led by Dr. Ram Chandra Bhusal, President of JAAN and team leader of the JNS-Agriculture Promotion Project in Nepal (APPIN), supported by JNS, handed over the amount to Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle, which will be deposited into the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund.
The JNS, Tokyo, donated Rs 2,226,560; the JICA Alumni Association of Nepal (JAAN) donated Rs 1,011,705; and the ISAP donated Rs 309,271.
Previously, Loknath Devkota (Gorkha, Palungtar), Life Member of JAAN and former Joint Secretary of the government of Nepal, had handed over Rs 5 million to Finance Minister Dr Wagle for the support of flood victims. Dr. Bhusal coordinated the collection of the amount from all three organizations.
