Portugal coach Jorge offers Cristiano Ronaldo return to national squad

KATHMANDU: Portugal coach Jorge Jesus has stated that star forward Cristiano Ronaldo is welcome to return to the national team if he chooses.

Following Portugal’s 2-1 victory over Norway, Jesus emphasized that the decision regarding his international future rests entirely with the player. He confirmed that Ronaldo, who currently plays for the Saudi club Al-Nassr, remains eligible for selection.

‘If he wants to, he will return to the national team. Chris is the one who decides,’ Jesus said. He reiterated that Ronaldo is a crucial player for Portugal and has been an essential part of the squad since he took charge. The coach added that Ronaldo should be the one to decide how he wishes to conclude his career with the national team.
