Puducherry Schools Holiday Today, October 6, 2026: Students and parents are verifying if there is a school holiday or not as today is voting day in Puducherry’s Union Territory to elect a new member to fill the vacancy caused by the death of the sitting MLA at Thattanchavady constituency. Polling will be held today and the votes will be counted on October 9. A two-day holiday has been announced in all the schools in the Thattanchavady constituency.

Are Puducherry Schools Open or Closed Today (October 6)?

All the educational institutions in the Thattanchavady Assembly constituency are shut down on October 6, due to the by-election being held in the constituency. 

According to an official statement made by the Puducherry School Education Department, all the schools in the Thattanchavady Assembly constituency are declared as holiday on October 5 and October 6. No teaching or any other activity should be done by the schools on the days of holidays.
