By Laxmi Chaudhary, Janakpurdham, Oct. 11: The famous Rajdevi Temple in Janakpurdham has been decorated for Vijaya Dashami, one of the major festivals celebrated by Hindus.

The temple, which holds religious, cultural and historical significance in the Mithila region, has been adorned to make the special worship and rituals performed during Dashain more festive.

The Rajdevi Temple Worship Management Committee said decorations had been arranged from the main entrance to the sanctum to make this year's celebrations more attractive and organised than in previous years. Artificial flower garlands, colourful electric lights, decorative lighting and various types of festoons have been used to enhance the temple's appearance.

The committee has made special arrangements to attract devotees and visitors and provide a convenient environment for worship. Decorative materials brought on hire from India have been used to beautify the premises. The committee expects cultural programmes and recreational facilities, alongside religious rituals, to add to the festive atmosphere.

Rajdevi Temple attracts large numbers of devotees, particularly on Maha Ashtami, Maha Navami and Vijaya Dashami. Devotees from across the Mithila region, other districts and India visit the temple to worship the goddess and pray for family happiness, peace and social well-being. The temple is a major religious destination for devotees who worship the goddess as a manifestation of divine power.
