Reporting Live Movie Review: A bridge collapse in Visargaon claims the lives of 16 children and a pregnant woman. What initially appears to be a tragic accident soon leads investigative journalist Sandhya (Parineeti Chopra) and video journalist Vinod (Deven Bhojani) into the dangerous world of illegal sand mining. They discover a powerful syndicate that will go to any lengths to protect its business and keep the truth hidden.
As Sandhya and Vinod dig deeper, their investigation puts them in the crosshairs of influential people. Their families face threats, their safety is compromised, and even their newsroom becomes an obstacle as powerful interests try to stop the story from being published. The two journalists, however, refuse to back down.
On paper, Reporting Live has all the ingredients of a gripping investigative thriller. It brings together a criminal syndicate, media politics and two journalists trying to expose a nexus that thrives on money and influence. Unfortunately, the film’s execution does not quite live up to its premise.

Reporting Live Movie Review: Plot
The film’s biggest strength is its subject. Illegal sand mining, often described as a lucrative trade involving enormous sums of money, provides an interesting backdrop for a story about investigative journalism. The bridge collapse gives Sandhya and Vinod a reason to investigate, and their search for answers gradually exposes a much larger criminal operation.
The first half works reasonably well because it allows the investigation to unfold. As the journalists follow leads and begin to understand the scale of the racket, the story builds a sense of discovery. There is enough intrigue to make you curious about what they will uncover next.
