Russia-Ukraine War Latest News: Ukraine ‘airlifts supplies’ to Russian-occupied town
Food and medicine have been delivered by drone to the Russian-occupied town of Oleshky in southern Ukraine, the country’s foreign minister has said.
Andrii Sybiha claimed that Russian forces had been trying to isolate Ukrainians in the area from the outside world, “even obstructing the delivery of food to people facing severe shortages”.

The town has been under Russian occupation since 2022.
A previous purported Ukrainian airlift of supplies using drones took place in September.
Sybiha said the latest delivery included nearly 400 packages consisting of almost four tonnes of food and medicine.
The Kremlin has confirmed that Oleshky has major problems with supplies of food and medicine, but said its military was trying to help.
Ivan Vyhivskyi, Ukraine’s minister of internal affairs, posted a video on social media which he said showed part of the airlift.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has welcomed the reported re-election of Latvian Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs.
Kulbergs, a 47-year-old centrist, is expected to form a pro-Ukrainian coalition government that will continue to provide aid to Kyiv after defeating pro-Russian rivals in Saturday’s poll.
With 97% of the votes counted, Kulbergs’s United List had received 35% of the vote, enough to secure 42 seats in the country’s 100-seat parliament.
