An oil refinery in the southwest Russian region of Volgograd completely stopped crude oil processing on 2 October after equipment was damaged by a drone attack, two industry sources told the Reuters news agency.
It will likely exacerbate a fuel crunch in Russia caused by Ukrainian attacks on refineries.

The regional administration, citing governor Andrey Bocharov, reported a massive drone attack on the region’s industrial infrastructure but did not name the specific facilities involved.
Ukraine and Russia have intensified attacks on each other’s energy facilities as efforts to end the war, now in its fifth year, have failed to produce progress.
The Volgograd refinery previously sustained significant damage in drone attacks on 29 May and 31 July.
According to the company’s website, the refinery has a processing capacity of approximately 14 million tonnes of crude oil per year, or 280,000 barrels per day, which accounts for about 5% of the total refining volume in Russia.
