Russia Ukraine War Live News: This afternoon, a major fire broke out a Romanian-flagged vessel in the Black Sea. While Romania didn’t declare the cause, its neighbour Ukraine has alleged that Russia is responsible for the attack. Russian authorities have not responded to the accusation yet. 

Russia Ukraine War Live News: What Happened in the Black Sea? 

According to multiple reports, foreign drones attacked a Romanian ship in the Black Sea, this afternoon, sparking a fire. Subsequently, 2 people tragically lost their lives. 

The country’s Naval Authority said the incident involved a fire on the ship Royad Mammadov. And the Interior Ministry shared that 11 people were successfully rescued from the vessel.

Now, Ukrainian President  Volodymyr Zelensky has blamed Russian drones for the attack. “A horrific strike by two Russian drones on a civilian vessel in neutral waters carrying corn and owned by Türkiye. Azerbaijani and Indian citizens were on board,” he wrote on X. 

He added that “As of now, unfortunately, ‌we know that the ship’s captain was killed. My condolences. The fate of one other person is still being established. Eleven crew members were rescued, one of them injured.” Russia has not commented on the matter yet.
