GANDAKI:  In a bid to promote tourism, a scheme of ‘Silver Triangle’ has been forwarded by connecting the major tourist destinations of Pokhara, Bharatpur and Lumbini.

Three local governments representing the tourist destinations are all set to promote tourism, exchange good practices and mutual cooperation. Pokhara Metropolitan City of Kaski, Bharatpur Metropolitan City of Chitwan and Lumbini Cultural Municipality of Rupandehi are the local governments advancing the concept into practice.

Bharatpur Metropolitan City held an interaction on ‘Silver Triangle’ on Monday. The event was held to collect suggestions from the concerned stakeholders and prepare plans for future. Chiefs of all three local governments, people’s representatives, administrators, private sector leaders, tourism entrepreneurs and others expressed commitment to expand tourism in all three destinations, which bear significance from religious and tourism viewpoints.
At the interaction, chief of the District Coordination Committee in Chitwan, Narayan Prasad Adhikari, said tourism could be promoted by connecting Pokhara with adventure, Bharatpur with nature and Lumbini with culture. In addition to the construction of tourism infrastructures, cleanliness and environmental issues deserve equal attention for it, according to him.
