It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that everybody loves an uncluttered home, although some of us tend to take it for granted when we are blessed with one without putting our own effort into it. But what about those unfortunate lots, both men and women, who, despite their backbreaking effort to put everything in its proper place and keep their abode spick and span, have to deal with a messy house? This write-up tries to land some pungent satire on those inconsiderate, lazy individuals and is in commiseration with the victim lots. Proudly, I fall under the latter cohort. Obviously, I wouldn’t have had the moral footing to write all this if I did not.

The underlying motive of this slice-of-life prose is to provide a fresh impetus for behavioural change in those thoughtless domestic gaslighters so that justice may prevail in every household. The paradigm has shifted. Men no longer fit this perpetrator narrative alone; women, too, exhibit proclivities toward lethargy, slovenliness, and a resulting sense of impunity. Without beating around the bush, dare I say women who are domestic mess-makers and gaslighters are significant in number in our society these days, especially once they can’t find their things amid the mess they blithely created themselves.
