US-Israel-Iran War Latest Live News: The US-Israel-Iran war latest news remained focused on growing regional tensions on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, as attacks and military developments spread across key Middle Eastern flashpoints. India condemned an attack on a Panama-flagged commercial vessel off Oman after a projectile struck the ship while it was transiting the Strait of Hormuz. The vessel had 17 Indian nationals among its 19 crew members, with 11 Indians among the 12 people reported injured.

At the same time, Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthis claimed they had targeted Abha airport in southwestern Saudi Arabia with missiles, although Saudi authorities had not confirmed the claim. The developments came as fighting around Yemen’s Bab al-Mandeb region intensified and global energy markets continued to assess risks to oil and fuel supplies.

According to the MEA statement issued on October 6, the vessel was struck by a projectile while transiting the Strait of Hormuz. The ship had a total crew of 19, of whom 17 were Indian nationals. Twelve crew members were injured, including 11 Indians, the ministry said.

With assistance from Omani authorities, the injured crew members were evacuated and were receiving medical treatment in Khasab, Oman.

The MEA said the continuing attacks on shipping in the region were a matter of deep concern for India and called for an immediate cessation of such attacks. It also said commercial vessels, seafarers and civilian infrastructure must not be targeted and called for navigation and commerce through international waterways to be restored.

11 Indian Crew Members Injured in Strait of Hormuz Attack

The incident has raised fresh concerns over the safety of Indian seafarers operating on commercial vessels in waters affected by the wider regional conflict.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important energy and shipping chokepoints. Any prolonged threat to commercial vessels in the area can have consequences not only for seafarers but also for international trade and energy markets.

The exact circumstances surrounding the projectile strike and responsibility for the incident remain subject to further investigation. Reports available so far do not establish who carried out the attack.

Houthis Claim Missile Attack on Abha Airport in Saudi Arabia

Yemen’s Houthi group said on Tuesday that it had targeted Abha airport in southwestern Saudi Arabia with missiles.

The claim had not been independently verified, and Saudi authorities had not immediately confirmed the reported attack. Reuters reported that the Houthis had previously claimed attacks on several Saudi locations, including airports, an Aramco refinery and military sites.

The latest Houthi claim came as Saudi-backed Yemeni government forces advanced in areas around the strategically important Bab al-Mandeb Strait, adding to tensions along another major maritime route.
