US Israel Iran War Latest News:  The Yemeni Houthi faction has stepped up attacks on the aviation infrastructure of Saudi Arabia, targeting King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and a Saudia Airlines plane. It was reported by Saudi officials on Friday, October 9 that at least three Saudis, one of whom was an airplane pilot, died in the attacks carried out the previous day.

The attacks injured many others and damaged a Saudia Airlines plane. There are growing fears for the safety of civilians due to the increasing intensity of the ongoing regional conflicts, which have led to cancellations of flights by international carriers to Riyadh.

This development has taken place against the backdrop of the overall US-Israel-Iran conflict and renewed fighting in Yemen. The Houthis have been threatening planes flying in Saudi air space in order to disrupt the kingdom’s air connections in response to the Saudi military action against the Houthis in Yemen. Yet, the attacks did not cut off Saudi Arabia, and reports on Friday indicated that operations at Riyadh airport were being restored.
