US Measles Outbreak: New York Declares Statewide Emergency Amid Massive Surge; Over 1000 Cases Detected in Pennsylvania – Check Symptoms, Treatment and More

US Measles Outbreak: Kathy Holchul, the governor of New York has announced a statewide emergency after over 100 cases were found in the state. Authorities in nearby Pennsylvania has reported 1004 cases in an alarming outbreak. Cases of measles are currently on the rise in quite a few American states, including New York, Pennsylvania and more.

New York Governor Kathy Holchul has declared a statewide emergency owing to an escalating measles outbreak. “No ⁠one should get seriously ill or die from a vaccine-preventable disease”, she said in a statement . It marks the first such declaration by a U.S. state since cases ​began surging in 2025. Since October 3, 2026 at least 108 measles cases have been reported across the state of New York.
