A dramatic four-car pile-up in the pit lane became one of the talking points of Sunday’s Super Formula action at Fuji Speedway, after a chain reaction involving Luke Browning, Nirei Fukuzumi, Syun Koide and Rikuto Kobayashi unfolded during a pit stop.
The incident occurred during the Super Formula 2026 Round 10 race on Sunday, October 11, when Fukuzumi was reportedly released from his pit box into Browning’s path. The contact sent Browning’s car spinning sideways, with Koide then hitting him from behind before Kobayashi became involved in the collision.
Fukuzumi was handed an unsafe-release penalty following the incident. The crash raised immediate concern among spectators, with one fan describing the frightening moment as their first time watching Super Formula in person and hoping all the drivers were safe.
