Military drone services in Ukraine have been reportedly compromised following the implementation of speed restrictions on satellite communication terminals used by the nation’s military forces. The speed restrictions, which were announced on October 14, 2026, have raised questions regarding the connection between SpaceX’s military satellite network, Starshield, and its commercial Starlink service.
According to Ukrainian officials, some military drone missions had faced connectivity issues including those that involved fast-moving drones for attacking and anti-aircraft purposes. The restrictions had established a speed limit of approximately 160 km/h (100 mph) for terminals when they were in motion.
