8th Pay Commission Latest News: Consultation for the 8th Central Pay Commission has reached an important phase, with the three-member committee holding discussions with stakeholders in Bengaluru on October 7 & 8, 2026. The commission has called upon employees associations, pensioners associations, and other stakeholders to give their opinions regarding pay, allowances, pensions, and other service conditions. The next big discussion will be held in Mumbai on October 22 & 23.

8th Pay Commission Latest News: Bengaluru Meetings on October 7 and 8

The Commission, chaired by Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai, is conducting a two-day consultation in Bengaluru. Prof Pulak Ghosh is the part-time member, whereas Pankaj Jain is the Member-Secretary. This Bengaluru meeting is one of the ongoing consultations conducted by the Commission with organizations of central government employees and pensioners.

The Commission had sent out invitations to the eligible organizations, institutions, associations, and unions to apply for appointments in the course of their Bengaluru visit. As per the schedule of the Commission, these applications for appointments were supposed to reach them before September 18 with the unique memorandum ID.

The Commission is expected to visit Mumbai following their tour of Bengaluru on October 22 and 23, 2026. On the official website of 8th CPC, it has been indicated that any organization or association wanting to meet during the Mumbai visit should apply for appointments before October 10.
