Artificial Intelligence, or AI, has been a revolutionary tool – some people call it the greatest discovery after fire. It is one of the most profound inventions of humankind, to an extent where some actually fear it. It has gained mass popularity in recent years and become a household topic for people to discuss. Its unique intellectual capability intrigues humans, both fascinating and alarming them.
Whether we see AI as a positive or negative outlet, the truth is it has taken over. Nowadays, AI is almost everywhere, inside and outside the digital screens. Most of the posters and banners are created by AI tools. The logos, the placard, and even the billboards are generated with the help of AI. Official works take place with the help of artificial intelligence. These changes signal a lack of human creativity – the human race being reluctant to use their own cognitive ability.
However, AI’s most prominent usage can be seen in the virtual world. Social media is filled with low-effort AI content creation, undermining actual human-made, high-effort media. In recent years, spending absurd hours on social media has become a norm. In addition, the content most people watch on it has also been noted as low in productiveness and knowledge. Therefore, when we include ‘slop’ AI content in the already synthetic media, it becomes hazardous.
