India wrapped up its Asian Games 2026 campaign in Aichi-Nagoya with a strong finish, adding nine medals on the final day, including five golds, to end the Games with 21 gold, 27 silver and 37 bronze medals. The 85-medal haul placed India fourth in the overall standings, ahead of Uzbekistan on silver-medal count despite both nations finishing with 21 golds. Although India fell short of its 106-medal tally from Hangzhou 2022, the campaign featured several historic performances across multiple disciplines.
Among the Indian athletes who won gold were Kumkum Anil Mohod in women’s individual recurve archery, Pranavi Urs in women’s individual golf, Aman Sehrawat in men’s freestyle 57kg wrestling, and members of the Indian men’s cricket and hockey teams, who successfully defended their respective Asian Games titles. Pranavi also contributed to the women’s team silver, while the men’s hockey team defeated Malaysia 5-1 to secure its fifth Asian Games gold and an LA 2028 Olympic quota. India’s women’s cricket team had earlier won gold, completing a cricket double at the Games. Take a look at all the gold medal winners from Asian Games 2026.
