By Our Correspondent, Lamjung, Oct. 3: The Besisahar-Chame road, the only road link connecting the Himalayan district of Manang, has remained closed for the past six days following floods and landslides last Saturday and Sunday.

The disruption has affected tourists travelling on the Annapurna Circuit as well as residents of Manang. Transportation of food, construction materials and other supplies to Upper Manang has also been halted. However, the Manang administration said there was no immediate shortage of food or other essential commodities despite the disruption.

Preparations are underway to use explosives to break rocks at Khotro in Nasong Rural Municipality-3 of Lower Manang, where a landslide has blocked the road. According to the District Administration Office, holes are being drilled in the rocks for controlled blasting following a decision by the District Security Committee.
